This atlas systematically summarizes and discusses the applied anatomy of glioma surgery, the concept of modern precision in neurosurgery and the clinical application of computer-assisted surgery. This atlas describes glioma surgery and all related techniques and strategies including multimodal navigation technology, applied surgical anatomy and awake anesthesia principles. It presents classic glioma cases from various parts of the brain with surgery videos for readers to understand the key points of glioma surgery. The content of the atlas is divided into introductory chapters and illustrative cases of glioma surgery.
The introductory part describes the principles of glioma surgery including awake surgery technique, cognitive tasks designs for awake surgery, electrophysiological mapping techniques such as cortical stimulation and cortical electroencephalography, and multimodal neuronavigation techniques among others. The highlight of the introductory part is the chapter presenting a series of applied anatomical maps related to glioma surgery.
In the second part, a series of typical glioma cases selected based on region of brain involvement are presented. The important surgical steps and techniques for glioma resection from each part are presented using a large number of intraoperative computer illustrations. The highlight of the second part is not only the illustrations, but also the accompanying 30 surgery videos from each case with commentary.
