Malli ja hullu kuvailija = The model and the mad painter : 12 monologia suomen taiteesta = 12 monologues on finnish art
The Model and the Mad Painter combines the artworks from Gösta Serlachius Fine Arts Foundation's collections and monologues written by Riikka Ala-Harja. Ala-Harja's texts give the often unknown models of the artworks an opportunity to express their views. The monologues have been created for the exhibitionThe Model and the Mad Painter exhibited at Serlachius Museum Gösta. The publication sheds light also on the art historical facts behind the artworks that Riikka Ala-Harja has referred to in her monologues. The mad painter refers to Akseli Gallen-Kallela who in the late 19th century lived and worked at Ekola croft in Keuruu. In the minds of the local people he was regarded as a mad man and they called him "The painter".
