The management of vortices and separation behind the bodies
at high angles of attack is important for high
maneuvrability of airplanes and other fluid dynamic
apparatus. The recent international developments in the
fundamental sciences and the application to the control of
fluid behaviours were presented at the IUTAM Symposium on
Fluid Dynamics of High Angle of Attack in September 1992 in
Tokyo and documented in this volume.
