Amid technological advances and increasing necessity to communicate information in various situations, translation studies as an academic field has struggled for definition. Already interdisciplinary in nature, translation studies are constantly expanding and demanding more. To a field challenged by breadth, this edited collection of articles attempts to bring depth by focusing on translator and interpreter education.
Articles in this publication represent both empirical research and theory. The writers describe the changes that have occurred in translation and interpretation education, but also consider what is yet to be done. From past technological hurdles to new ones and the need to address new local and global needs, training will need to continue to adapt.
