This book addresses the fundamentals and the main issues related to the implementation of the socio-ecological transition, with the particular case of the province of Quebec, Canada from the point of view of research and teaching, and will propose some keys to accelerate this transition in the different economic sectors of the province. The book layout of contributing chapters is based on the actual CIRODD (Centre Interdisciplinaire De Recherche En Opérationnalisation Du Développement Durable ) scientific program, with 2 general sections and 11 themes, with the goal of providing the reader with state-of-the art advancements on the socioecological transition to which the CIRODD has been contributing during the last decade.
Section 1 examines practical interventions and strategies for citizen mobilization, focusing on transition projects, urban planning, and models for collaborative knowledge creation. It integrates theoretical, practical, and experiential insights, highlighting the role of research and the arts in advancing the socio-ecological transition. Section 2 aims to equip readers with essential tools to support this transition, offering models and methods for analyzing complex systems and showcasing digital approaches for developing circular and sustainable business models.
