This book contains papers presented at the sixth International conference on Innovation through Knowledge Transfer, InnovationKT-14, held at the University of Greenwich, 2-4 April 2014. The theme of the conference was an important one. All developed nations now talk about being, or becoming, knowledge-based economies. This infers that innovative new ideas and concepts are effectively commercialised bringing economic and societal value-added. In parallel, they may also aspire to be economies of knowledge, producing and inventing products and processes which can later be adapted by entrepreneurs to realise commercial benefit. In a world where so many business, economic and social models are beginning to look anachronistic, never has it been so important that we work together using our imaginations, creativity and curiosity to ensure we remain innovative. This conference played a small, but important part in invigorating this notion, and these proceedings form a record of it.
