This book is an attempt to present the essence of the methodological thinking which Barney Glaser and Anselm Strauss expressed in their Grounded Theory method. Their way of analyzing data was first published in 1967 and is today one of the most popular and applied qualitative methods. Grounded Theory can be understood as a model for generating theory. It offers a systematic design for analyzing qualitative data material with theoretical roots in symbolic interactionism, hermeneutics and educational ethnography.
