Each cherished recipe is dashed with authenticity – handwritten – and is presented alongside their authentic personal stories of learning to cook. The book honours the resilience and perseverance of those who endured centuries of British colonialism. It goes beyond a cookbook, offering a comprehensive directory of South Asian stores and serving as an archive of art and design reflected by the intricate patterns found on food packaging in South Asia.
