The Conference on Approximation Theory held in Poznan, August 22-26, . 1972, was organized jointly by the Mathematical Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Mathematics of the Adam Mickiewicz University. These proceedings contain part of the papers presented during the conference.
