This work was far ahead of its time: with the German-Jewish Songbook, Abraham Zwi Idelsohn created a comprehensive collection of the most popular Jewish and German songs of his time in 1912, a fundamental work for teaching in Germany and the diaspora, in which Jewish and German music faced on an equal footing.
