5MIINUST and PUULUUP is a wildly unexpected collaboration that will represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. The first being a dominating force in pop music in Estonia for the last six years and latter being an award-winning internationally active zombie-folk (as they call themselves) duo.
Regardless of the apparent differences of genre, the extremes of our musics melt together effortlessly - 5MIINUST bringing the firepower with kicks and bass and PUULUUP with their extremely rare wooden lyra (Talharpa) melodies to offer to the world a totally fresh sound palate - the sounds that our grandparents know in their bones driven by modern music production raw pumping energy.
The competition song „(nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll)midagi“ was the first one we made together (now we’re already releasing an album „kannatused ehk külakiigel pole stopperit“ (26.04.2024)). Since 5MIINUST has had the notoriety of being "wild boys' and PUULUUP a pristine one, we had to mark this collaboration with this exact song. In that sense the song is about breaking social barriers and overcoming prejudice.
Facts:
