What sort of book gets a review in "The New Statesman", "Practical Caravan", "The Lancaster Guardian" and "Auto Express"? It could only be the "M6 Sights Guide", published in November 2004. Joe Moran in "The New Statesman" said "It was a tough job but someone had to do it - travelling up and down Britain's busiest inter-urban motorway writing thumbnail sketches about the landmarks that can be seen from it." "The Lancaster Guardian" considered the "M6 Guide" was "meticulously researched", but a journalist from the "Lichfield Mercury" was furious that it had not included his beloved cathedral in the reference to his city. He was missing the point. Everyone knows about that wonderful building, and every sheet of tourist literature drools over it. These Guides try to avoid replicating the obvious and so focused on something about which most "M6" users would be unaware. "The M6 Sights Guide" was the best value "Auto Express" Christmas 2004 stocking filler recommendation: "A fascinating collection of entertaining trivia to make the miles fly by."
