As globalizations of all sorts continue to gain momentum, the idea of democratic participation in political community is becoming ever less tangible. Poverty in World Politics features a collection of articles on the failures to realize democratic ideals in a "global era," evident in the exclusionary processes of a globalizing world economy and the persistence and increase in poverty.
