Mary and Ingrid are sisters, born and raised in China, now living in the US. Mary is tormented by her despair at work and her grudge towards her parents; Ingrid, however, is tormented by the death of her boyfriend. When their widowed mother arrives for the first time in the US, they can't avoid a reunion.
