This catalogue contains the wide range of artists and works now expected from the Chris Beetles Gallery and its well-established annual show of illustrators. Familiar and favourite illustrators are included from Lawson Wood to John Everett Millais. The wealth of illustrations are complemented by detailed biographical entries. A special feature of this volume is a cumulative index which, listing all of the artists included in a decade's illustrators catalogues, confirms the strength of this native art in the last two centuries, and of the gallery's part in promoting it.
