This new book brings together 100 images that represent the idea of active resistance. Inspired by Vivienne Westwood's manifesto (which was first published in 2008) from 8th September 2010 for 100 days the public were asked to send in artworks, slogans and photographs that best represented her idea of Active Resistance. Each day one artwork was showcased online before the entire collection was showcased in an exhibition and this accompanying publication. As Westwood herself puts it: 'The principle idea of Active Resistance is that you get out of life what you put in and that real experience of the world involves thinking. It is not enough to follow world politics, see films and read the prize-winning best sellers. This is superficial, you need to go deep in order to understand who you are, what the world is and how things could be better. This involves culture which can only be acquired by self-education: human beings should mirror the world.'
