He really was something else – the Gypsy of the blues: Eddie Kirkland. Our paths crossed sometimes around the year of 2000 thanks to the late great Rock Bottom from Florida who recommended Eddie, this outstanding blues legend who was all the myths about blues artists in one person. He had toured with all the greats, he lived in his car, he had been to the crossroads and he even cancelled the deal with the devil. – myth or not but there was something about this charismatic performer that we, a bunch of young musicians from Finland had never seen nor never will experience again. We played so much together in Europe during a period of 10 years ;me that Eddie started talking about him being a member in the Wentus Blues Band and wanted us to come tour the US. And he was never a featuring member, he WAS our member, mentor, friend and grandfather within the blues that left us his legacy to take on to the next generations. We miss you Eddie everyday and we want to share these recordings in honour of your 100th birthday. We picked up the pieces and we'll keep on marchin ´on!!
