This text presents an exegetic study of the usage and meaning of Greek healing words from their first appearence in the work of Homer until the time of Galen. The study focuses on language surrounding the healing cult of Asklepios at Epidayuros, Athens, Kos and Pergamon, and the healing ministry of Jesus of Nazareth as depicted by the New Testament authors.
