This work features essays by Vitus Weh, David Pestorius. Heimo Zobernig latest works take the specific spatial conditions of the exhibition space at the Salve Hospes building as their theme. Its classical architecture is characterized by airy, light-filled cabinet-sized spaces, which are used to radically frame Zobernig's interventions. His pictures are hung on walls, but also over the door and window apertures, the dimensions of some of his works blatantly disregarding the scale of the rooms. In his monochrome and grid paintings, installations, video projections, and site-specific sculptures, Zobernig leaves the question of the meaning of the art object open. This catalogue accompanies the exhibition Heimo Zobernig at Kunstverein Braunschweig.
