The ancient Egyptians dedicated special temples to the sacred art of dreaming. Today, the world's shamans and elders encourage humanity to imagine the world that we want to see emerge, to dream into reality, healing, balance, and peace. Taos artist Kimberly Webber's paintings are meditations on the sacred vision of dreams, on the mystery, power, and magic of the natural world, and on the realms of the archetypes that reside in our collective super-consciousness. Webber's oil paintings are created with a merging of traditional Asian and classic European schools of painting. The completed paintings are seventy to one hundred layers of pure earth pigment, subtle color washes, and delicate oil glazes. Traditional materials such as vine charcoal, powdered mineral and earth pigments, ink and handmade oil formulas are used to produce paintings that are luminous, multidimensional, and light interactive. Webber prefers natural elements for their superior practical applications as well as for their metaphysical properties. The process is an alchemical blending of materials, light, and intent. ""Touching Earth"" invites the viewer to discover recent works in beautiful, full-color plates with insightful writings by the artist.
