Ebony Christian is an independent real estate agent in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in the late 1970's as the city is transformed by the casinos which bought blocks of homes and apartment houses to replace with hotels, parking lots, and casinos. As Christmas approaches, Ebony has a night visitor reminiscent of both Dickens and Disney who offers her anything she wants as long as she returns it at midnight. Although Ebony never was a Scrooge, her choice changes her life and broadens her view of Christmas.
