Young lawyer Milton Stack gets recruited to work for a fledgling spy agency on the eve of World War II, and is soon ensconced at the U.S. embassy in Berlin, Germany, helping to develop a network of trusted allies, risking everything to track down secrets that will help bring a halt to the spread of the Third Reich.
