Jeremiah is seen as a prophet of judgment and doom. He understood thehard times befalling Judah were the result of people breaking the covenantwith God. Jeremiah was also a prophet of hope for those who believedGod had not forsaken them, even when they were forced into exile. Jeremiahknew that the relationship with God could be restored.
