Vox Silentii's nCD The Night of Light consists of meditative ancient Christmas music. There are of course some little joyfull antiphones like Hodie Christus natus est (Today Christ is born), or the sweet Christmas chant Benedicamus about the baby Jesus. But more over we want to bring audible the expecting, wondering, even insecure and a little bit sad thoughts. The CD is devided into three sections: searching, mystery and peace.
The Finnish vocal duo Vox Silentii was founded in 1992. They perform mostly prayer songs based on the Christian Church tradition. The singers believe that the human voice is a bridge to a world you cannot see and the heavenly connection gives you silence and peace. Vox Silentii was originally a three members group, but stepped down to two members a couple of years ago. The members have for years been involved in exploring Medieval culture, religiosity and liturgical songs. They give training courses in Medieval song and they do a lot of concerts both in Finland and abroad.
Vox Silentii: Johanna Korhonen, vocals; Hilkka-Liisa Vuori, vocals.
