Here, the basic aspects of multiphase reactions, the importance of transport parameters vis-a-vis kinetics are clearly brought out, backed by a discussion of the principles of similarity in scale-up. The book treats new reactors in depth, in particular the ventury loop reactor and monolithic reactors, while also covering the problems encountered in retrofitting existing reactors for new reaction duties.
