Yevgeniy Vasilyev (*1984) was born in Veliky Novgorod. His comprehensive education was combined with the clarinet class at Children Music School, where he spent five years. In 2001 Vasilyev entered the Novgorod Region S. V. Rachmaninov Music College, where he started studying bassoon and composition at V. V. Priymak. In 2005 the young composer graduated from the Music College with honours and was admitted to the Orchestra Faculty of the St. Petersburg N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire to the bassoon class of K. B. Sokolov. The following year was marked for Yevgeniy by starting the parallel education at the composition faculty at the great master S. M. Slonimsky.
