This publication gives a snapshot of the social and economic conditions in each of the member States, using statistical indicators from a wide variety of different domains, ranging from GDP per capita to rates of computer use by age and sex, and from gender differences in wage rates to the proportion of land area covered by forest. It presents profiles of the 56 United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) member countries, and includes data collected from national and international sources of official statistics. This publication aims to serve readers as a helpful reference guide to the socio-economic conditions in the countries and territories of UNECE region.
