NICHOLAS UEBEL was born in Anlaby, Hull, East Yorkshire in 1946. Because of illness it was not until later in life that he was able to realise his literary potential. In 1961, at the age of fifteen, Nicholas began a varied working life, after which, for eighteen years, he was employed at the Defence School of Transport at Leconfield, Yorkshire. He now lives with his wife, Heather, in the seaside town of Filey. Their prime interest is exploring the English countryside in Nick's Campervan. He has built a Teardrop Caravan and admits that he has, through adding numerous extras to it, become a highly-skilled bodger! Nicholas has had a rich, diverse life which has made a valuable contribution to his writings. These brim with characterisation and incident; all based on personal experience. Writing poetry evolved from Nicholas' keen observation of life and engagement with the people he encountered. His nostalgic stories have been published regularly in Down Your Way magazine.
