Sixteen year old Starsha is a dreamer in a world where female dreamers are feared. She feels as inconsequential and out of place as the daytime moon. Through an ancient prophecy, the tyrant, Garthazor, discerns her potential and is determined to destroy her by using stolen and mutated magic. Starsha's seven year old brother, Pinay, and Garthazor's second in command, Kymel, offer to stand with Starsha against Garthazor and his army, but Kymel betrays Starsha and Pinay falls under the persuasion of the tyrant.
