As an ex-professional boxer, Ronnie Callaghan divides his time between market trading, when it suits him, and running a boxing gym. One day, however, he is given a sharp shock when his comfortable lifestyle is threatened. Either by choice or coincidence, an unwelcome face from his past confronts him: a certain 'plastic gangster' by the name of Paul Rossetti. Upon meeting again, their lifelong hatred for each other returns with a vengeance and an altercation soon follows. The violent outcome leads to a string of illicit events, which soon threaten to spiral out of control. As a result, Callaghan is soon drawn into a web of deceit in the heart of the criminal underworld: controlled racketeering, fronted by crime baron Terry Winters. The life of a gangster, however, is rarely a quiet one. Once a turf war erupts, the gruesome services of a professional hitman, Enrico Maniela, are called into play. With the stakes high and everything to lose, Winters will stop at nothing to contain what's left of his crumbling empire. As for Callaghan, it seems inevitable that he and his hated rival Paul Rossetti are destined to share the same grim destiny.
