Daniel is ten years old and feels a real towny when he goes to stay at his Uncle's sheep farm. Despite the protection of his cousin and the kindness of his Auntie Mair, he does not like farm work, fears his gruff Uncle, and is rather lonely. Then the Old Man Glifach and "Krawk" enter his life.
