Blue Note Records is releasing a compilation highlighting some of the artists and music that emerged from the community around former East London live music venue Total Refreshment Centre.

'Transmissions From Total Refreshment Centre', out on 17th February, collects seven tracks by artists connected with the recording space, gig venue and associated label, with the music touching on genres such as jazz, dub, hip-hop, soul and drill.

Total Refreshment Centre was founded in 2012 as a place for musicians and artists to meet, create and collaborate. As well as taking in nine recording studios and rehearsal spaces, which continue to be used now, it also served as a live music until the midpoint of 2018, when Hackney Council chose not to renew its license.
