The piano cycle "Fancies" by Boris Tishchenko (born in 1939) may be called the edition of the composer's works, having been created during the years of his youth. So many years have passed since these pieces were written. Meanwhile the composer's style has been undergoing significant changes, especially in the sphere of harmony. However, there are special peculiarities, which are left firm for Boris Tishchenko and his music. These are really his rich fantasy and the diversity of piano playing devices. Tishchenko is a wonderful pianist. Besides, he uses to treat skillfully the music form.
The cycle "Fancies" may be recommended to the students-pianists as the composition of the educational and concert repertoire.
