The Presidency and Science Advising
The unifying theme of the present volume on the presidency and science advising is 'experience past and present.' Contributors, who include A. Hunter Dupree, Wolfgang Panofsky, Solomon J. Buchsbaum, William Graham, Norman Hackerman, Alvin Weinberg, and Robert Quarles Marston, examine science advising practices and problems from the times of the Founding Fathers to the Reagan administration. Underpinning this collection of papers is an emphasis on continuity and change. As in the area of political and legal thought, the quality of scientific thinking of the founders stands out.
