Human Development in South Asia 2009 - Trade and Human Development in South Asia
Countries need to trade with other countries to earn income for its goods and services. They also need to trade to upgrade workers' knowledge and skills. Thus trade is supposed to increase both production and productivity of a country and thereby reduce poverty. How far South Asian countries have been able to attain these goals is the subject of this report, Human Development in South Asia 2009, the 13th annual report of Mahbub ul Haq Human Development Centre.
