The Kinks' 1971 classic "Everybody's In Show-Biz-Everybody's A Star" has been remastered from the original tracks to celebrate the album's 50th anniversary.
"Everybody's in Show-Biz" is a double album that deals on the one hand with stories from the streets and on the other hand with songs from the streets. There are plenty of Ray Davies wits on the album, notably the dim opening of "Unreal Reality" or the tongue-in-cheek "Look a Little on the Sunny side" and the upbeat classic "Supersonic Rocket Ship". In addition to the joke, there is also a touch of melancholy running through the album, especially with the hit "Celluloid Heroes". The artwork was processed in high quality and transferred to a gatefold sleeve. All songs were produced by Ray Davies and remastered by Kinks pro Kevin Gray.
The 1 CD version features a brand new Ray Davies remix of "Celluloid Heroes" and includes extensive sleeve notes with band quotes and photos.
