Chet Wiener's introductory remarks situate Tarkos both among the new crop of French poets as it also allows us to appreciate the highly stylized and meticulous work of the poet in question. His work is pre-eminently French, and he has so proven it in 25 volumes of poetry! His poetry is fast and furious, elegant, entertaining, permanently re-viewing his own poetics and thus it is an engaging and necessary work where Tarkos takes us where poetry is supposed to go via repetition, space rhythm, sounds, and all contained within a performative "time" which ranges from a "posie proletaire to post-Mallarmean practitioners such as Prigent an Novarina." – Serge Gavornsky
