Problems in Shakespeare's Penmanship
Including a study of the poet's Will. The author's interest in Shakespeare's penmanship had its origin when it occurred to the author that in the poets' autographs we may find clues to his early retirement from the stage, his untimely death and to other vexatious problems in his biography. This investigation netted the author at least 108 alleged specimens of Shakespeare's handwriting. Out of this mass of material, the author has selected six of the poet's unquestioned signatures, a disputed signature in a first English edition of Montaigne's Essays and three pages in the manuscript play of Sir Thomas Moore.
