Finland's Petri Tamminen is known as a master of short prose and laconic humor. Hiding Places (Piiloutujan maa) is his first work published in English. His earlier books, which still await translation, include Elämiä ("Lives") a collection of miniature prose and the novel Väärä asenne ('Wrong Attitude').
Tamminen's deep sense of humor falls within the genre of situational humor, yet is entirely void of artificial or forced expression. His sensitivity to the universal need for moments of solitude strikes a cord inside every reader.
Hiding Places demonstrates that Tamminen's is a distinct and insightful voice of true humanity.
