Chemistry of organoboronates is an important upcoming area in organic synthesis and catalysis. Organoboronates are a relatively stable species, lacking inherent toxicity, and can replace other toxic and flammable organometallic reagents, such as organolithium, organomagnesium and organotin compounds. Furthermore, many of these highly unique species can be generated using one-pot procedures. Therefore the catalytic generation of organoboronates has immense potential in increasing eco-efficiency and lowering costs in industrial manufacturing of drug intermediates and specialized chemicals. This book focuses on the one-pot approach to organoboronate synthesis and the most important new applications of these reagents. It also highlights the possibilities for integration of synthesis and applications of organoboronates, thus improving the accessibility of these reagents for organic synthesis.
