This book was written as a gift to the four Swan children born of Mary Lenore Mitchell Swan and her beloved Bill (William Davis Swan) during her battle with ALS- Lou Gehrig's disease. She was no longer able to talk but had so much to say about her gratitude for her family and the life they had made for themselves at 451 Serine Road in Midland Michigan. What a joyous place that was!! Papa Boo, named by his oldest grandchild who could not pronounce Bill properly, with the help of his youngest son, Steve, planted acres of evergreens with the intention of selling Christmas trees...I don't believe he had the heart to chop down even one!!! But what fun we had tearing up and down the rows of perfectly lined up trees in the old red tractor!! Many stories of the Swan children raising pigs and riding them through the mud, skiing off the roof of the old weathered barn...times were hard but this family stayed the course and had as much fun as possible.
