A Photographic Guide to Snakes and Reptiles of Australia
This photographic guide is designed as a companion for the traveller, local or international, who is interested in Australian reptiles. The guide identifies 231 species covering the most commonly seen snakes, turtles, tortoises, geckos, lizards, dragons and skinks of Australia. Each entry is approximately 100 words in length and includes common and scientific names as well as measurements. Each species is accompanied by a colour photograph and a distribution map. A general introduction includes information on the group to which each species belongs with reference to the relevant text within the guide.;Gerry Swan is also the author of "A Field Guide to the Snakes and Lizards of New South Wales" for which he won a Whitely Award in 1991.
