This book presents the findings of a groundbreaking empirical study, conducted in the criminal courts of Basel, Bern, Geneva, and Zurich, of the manner in which criminal proceedings are conducted and, in particular, on the way in which the fair trial rights of the defence set out in Article 6 ECHR are implemented in practice.
