This text is about integration—(1) the integration of all types of children in the early childhood classroom, (2) the integration of assessment and learning as an interactive process, and (3) the integration of curriculum and instruction that is designed to be age appropriate, group appropriate, and individually appropriate. It prepares future teachers of young children—whether in early childhood education or early childhood special education—for the challenges of teaching in today's diverse classrooms.
