Once again, following on from Volumes I and II of the Animal Rescue Series, we find Jenny awakening one morning on the gorgeous island of Alderney with her heart hammering in her chest, and shadows lurking in the far corner of her bedroom. Plagued by nightmares, she has been awakened by the vision of a lonely figure in a dark gown standing on a lonely beach and pointing out to sea; a yellow face streaked with grime, and with a vast spray of foaming seawater gushing from its mouth, looms out of a gathering storm. Her sleep is full of disturbing dreams lately and it is all getting her down; but they are as nothing compared to the reality she has had to face. How long will she be able to continue to live and work in this location she loves so much? The discovery of a seemingly innocuous rotted black stump jutting out from damp sand leads to the uncovering of a wooden coracle, and so begins a series of events which put not only her own life at risk, but also that of her beloved dog, Scruffy.
The last in this Box-Set of three Volumes set around the adventures of Jenny, does not disappoint and is, as always, a triumph of nail-bitingly tingling horror and mystery from the pen of that undoubted Master of Mystery - Glenn Stuart.
