An eighteen year old English girl decides to marry an Armenian man from Iran and return to Iran with him. Life, however, doesn't work out to be quite as grand as she imagines. In Iran she lives through the turmoil of the Iranian revolution and faces a culture shock, cruelty, and humiliation. The author, who is now in her sixties writes from the heart as describes the events of her marriage and eventual escape.
