Wolf-eels can grow as long as eight feet, and they have huge, powerful teeth, which they use to crunch through the spiny armour of their favourite food, sea urchins. They mate for life and both parents care for their eggs for three months. If they become used to the sight of a scuba diver, they can be approachable and even affectionate.
