Moat's Microbial Physiology
The strength of this book has always been and will continue to be the breadth of organisms that are examined. Most of the similar books published in this subject area tend to concentrate on a specific organism or on only a few of the most well studied organisms (e.g., "E. coli," "Salmonella," or "Bacillus"). We plan to continue the tradition of diversity in the new edition and to broaden the discussions to include the Archaea. Another strength of "Moat's Microbial Physiology" is the blended presentation of microbial genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry and physiology. Similar textbooks typically focus on either genetics or physiology with little integration.
