Turbulent Shear Layers in Supersonic Flow
This is the first comprehensive introduction to the behavior of turbulent boundary layers at supersonic speeds. The book presents physical descriptions of boundary layer behavior on flat plates with and without pressure gradient, on curved walls, in compressions and expansions, and it describes boundary layer interaction with shock waves in two and three dimensions. The authors draw on experimental work, as well as results from numerical simulations, to illustrate their discussion of compressible flows.
