Hotel Arcadia is a prestigious, luxury hotel, fully booked with high-profile guests. It's also about to be subjected to a series of horrendous terrorist attacks that leave many of the guests dead and even more held hostage. Sam is a war photographer, known for her hauntingly beautiful photographs of the dead. She checks into Hotel Arcadia for respite after a particularly gruelling assignment, and finds herself thrust into mayhem. Abhi, the hotel manager, begs her to stay quiet and hides her away in a safe room. Abhi has issues of his own. A disappointment to his army family, he has taken the job at Hotel Arcadia to prove himself - and be himself, gay lover and all. Stuck inside the manager's office in the middle of the attack, he's desperately trying to everyone still alive safe. His lover Dieter is one of the hostages in the bar, and against his instructions, Sam is roaming the hotel taking photographs - potentially coming face to face with terrorists at any moment. As the tension grows, a small child is found alive under the bodies of his dead parents, and Abhi persuades Sam to care for him. Sam, Billy and Abhi develop a strange bond as the attacks become more ferocious, and it becomes clear that if any of them get out alive, their lives will never be the same again. A powerful literary work, Hotel Arcadia is at once a profoundly moving and chilling examination of the senseless nature of terrorism, danger and fear, and an unputdownable thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final page is turned.
